I’m such a sucker for floral photography. And these are just mind-blowingly beautiful. Exploded Flowers is a series of twenty photographs by Singaporean photographer Fong Qi Wei. Qi Wei disassembled and photographed twenty varieties of flowers, arranging each blossom’s pieces to emphasize its radial symmetry. “The act of disassembly—I hesitate to use the term dissection because this series is not meant to be a scientific treatise—lays bare the various shapes and textures of the flowers,” he says.
