More Bookmaking! [UPDATED]

I’m delighted to continue my partnership with the National Art Council’s Arts for All program! In 2013, I’ll be teaching bookmaking classes at community centers around the island!

Saturdays, January 12, 19, 26, 2pm to 4pm, Tampines Changkat Community Centre
Intermediate Bookbinding
In this three-week course, you will learn three fundamental multi-signature sewing techniques: the Coptic stitch, the kettle stitch, and the long stitch. SG$14.00 per person, which includes materials. Limited to 12 students.

Sundays, January 13, 20, 2pm to 5pm, Canberra Community Centre
Introduction to Bookbinding
In this course, we’ll discuss the tools and materials for bookbinding and explore adhesives, paper types and uses, and grain for paper and book cloth. You’ll learn a variety of structures—accordion book, single-section pamphlet stitch, flag book, and Japanese stab—to make fun, simple books that can be turned into artists’ books. SG$14.00 per person, which includes tools and materials. Limited to 12 students.

Sundays, March 3, 10, 17, 2pm to 4pm, Nee Soon Central Community Centre

UPDATE: NAC advises me that the best way to register is to call the respective CCs (Canberra: 6755 6369; Nee Soon Central: 6752 7687; Tampines Changkat: 6781 1806. They suggest that you wait until the first week of January to do so, however. If, after then, you are still having issues with registration, please email me!
