I’m delighted to have partnered with the National Art Council’s Arts for All program to offer an affordable introductory bookmaking class this November at Tampines Changkat Community Club.
This course teaches basic structures and stitches that every book artist should know in order to create a multitude of books. We’ll discuss the tools and materials for bookbinding and explore adhesives, paper types and uses, and grain for paper and book cloth. You’ll learn a variety of structures—accordion book (above), single-section pamphlet stitch, flag book, and Japanese stab—to make fun, simple books that can be turned into artists’ books.
So, join me on November 3, 10, and 17 from 2pm to 4pm. SG$15.00 per person, which includes tools and materials. Limited to 12 students.
To register, log onto one.pa.gov.sg and enter the activity code A19100879. Or call +65 67811806.
