Aijek by Danelle Woo

I haven’t written about my local fashion finds in some time! A recent discovery:

Self-taught Singaporean designer Danielle Woo recently launched her label, Aijek, in Shanghai. Her aim is to create a line of “beautiful, easy, and effortless pieces” using sustainable, high-quality fabrics. “We have three criteria for materials: natural, good hand-feel, and comfort,” Woo told Shanghai Daily. Silk is her fabric of choice.

At first glance, Woo’s debut collection, All About Love, seems straightforward. Upon a closer look, however, this fashionista notices many unexpected and wearable details. My favorites? The Daydreamer dress (top), the Hide and Seek blouse and Triangle trousers (bottom), and the Love Knots mini dress. The mini-dress’ knotted shoulder straps can be undone and worn as a shawl! “I’m in love with styles that allow convertibility and can be worn multiple ways,” Woo told Shanghai Daily. “I believe eco-fashion can work hand-in-hand with the season’s trends.”

In Singapore, you can find Aijek at nana & bird, Soon Lee, and Trixilini.
