Origami Rabbit by Yoke Bakery

In the midst of my search for Chinese New Year recipes, I discovered Yoke Bakery, a delicious small business run by baker, crafter, and all-’round DIYer, Alberta Leong. She bakes her own cookies, takes her own photographs, and makes her own deliveries.

As you know, 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit and what better way to celebrate—aside from eating sweet treats, of course—than to make a family of origami rabbits! The folds are a little tricky, Alberta tells us. “But once you get the hang of it, the bunnies will multiply really fast,” she says.

  1. Hope you’ve been to the zoo, if you haven’t you really should because you’re going to love it. My husband and I were just there over Christmas visiting family, and we’re already booking our tickets for another trip back in September!

In the meantime, I will live vicariously through your blog. Thanks to you, I’m also discovering new places!

  2. I tried this with a piece of random paper in the office…

Man, the little bunnies sure are tough to fold when you have fat fingers like me! And something is wrong with my bunnies necks!

  3. @Jac, I passed your comment onto Alberta. Hopefully she’ll stop by soon and address your concerns! Thank you for sharing the picture; you made my day.
